For Yadim, beauty is undefinable: a terrain that is always changing and is in constant dialogue with itself. The New York-based, San Diego-born Mexican-American makeup artist has stood at the vanguard of beauty for two decades, channelling his instinct for powerful transformation to become one of the industry’s most sought after creative talents. “I find imagemaking really exciting,” he says. “A powerful image says: ‘You matter. You’re part of this.’ Makeup artists can play a role in moving representation forward.” Bringing his mould-breaking approach to an expansive client list, Yadim channels the spirit of self-expression he was raised on to continually push the realm of beauty to unexplored new places.
To date, Yadim has worked on campaigns for Miu Miu, Prada, Gucci, Marni, Dsquared2, Marc Jacobs and Dior, and his collaborators have included figures such as Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott, Inez & Vinoodh, Glen Luchford, Willy Vanderperre, Zoe Ghertner, David Sims, Tyrone Lebon and Johnny Dufort. His editorials have appeared in titles such as i-D, Harper’s Bazaar, Beauty Papers, T Magazine, The Face, Vogue, L’Uomo Vogue and Dazed.
