Ezra Petronio and Lana Petrusevych are amongst the most influential image makers working today. Based in Paris, Ezra Petronio is the founder and creative director of Petronio Associates, a multi-disciplinary creative and strategic agency established in 1993. Lana Petrusevych joined the company in 2015. The following year they created Content Matters, a digital sister agency specializing in complementary services such as content, digital marketing and brand storytelling. The couple also publishes and edits Self Service magazine, a biannual independent publication with an international reach, offering an in-depth view of fashion and art; Ezra founded Self Service in 1994 with his former partner Suzanne Koller.
The output of both Petronio Associates and Content Matters stems from the dialogue between Ezra and Lana: their creativity is based on the art of collaboration. The two have developed branding, product design, and art direction for the likes of Saint Laurent Rive Droite with Anthony Vaccarello, Alaïa with Pieter Mulier, Lanvin, Gucci, Victoria Beckham, Glossier, Fendi and Zara. In 2017, Ezra & Lana co-founded and conceived the creative identity for La Bouche Rouge, a forward-thinking beauty brand.
Over the past few decades, Ezra Petronio has worked in a creative capacity with many of the industry’s greatest minds, from Karl Lagerfeld, to Phoebe Philo and Jil Sander. Among his first major projects was the design of Comme des Garçons fragrances with Rei Kawakubo. For ten years, alongside Miuccia Prada, he art-directed Miu Miu while working on a vast range of projects for Prada, including many of its fragrances. His clients have included A.P.C., Chanel, Chloé, Colette, Comme des Garçons, Emilio Pucci, Ferragamo, Guerlain, H&M, Helmut Lang Parfums, Hermès, Le Bon Marché, Louis Vuitton, Mango, Miu Miu, Puig, Repossi, Revlon, Saint Laurent and Tory Burch, among others.
Petronio is also an accomplished photographer: his ongoing series of polaroid portraits has reached over 4000 in number, and he shoots and directs both editorial and commercial projects.
